What is Zhi Ju Zi?:
The Chinese Herb Zhi Ju Zi is the dried fruit of the Japanese raisin tree (Hovenia dulcis Thunb.). They have a sweet, pear-like flavor and can be eaten raw, used as a sweetener, made into candy, or fermented to make wine or vinegar. They can also be dried and ground up (i.e. made into pills) for medicinal use.
