Ju Hua dispels wind-heat and is used in the early stages of wind heat invasions to treat headaches, painful eyes, fever and dizziness.

Ju Hua is commonly used to treat eye disorders and is added to a wide variety of formulas to treat redness, itching, floaters, blurred vision, and other manifestations of visual disturbances. Additionally, it enters the Liver channel and thus can serve as a guide to carry the therapeutic effects of other herbs up to the eyes (and head more generally).
