What is Huang Jin Gui?:

The Chinese Herb Huang Jin Gui is the dried caulis of vanieria shrub (Vanieria gerontogea Sieb et Zucc.), a thorny shrub that scrambles across the ground. Its large, bulbous-looking fruits are traditionally used in Indonesia as a dye for batik. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is the dried caulis (branches and twigs) that are decocoted and used as medicine.
