The Chinese Herb He Ye is the dried leaves of the lotus plant (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.), the aquatic plant also known as sacred lotus and/or water lily.

He Ye clears summer heat and resolves dampness and is used to treat fever, irritability, and scanty urine characteristic of dehydration from too much sun/heat.
He Ye also stops bleeding and is often used with other hemostatic herbs in formula for this purpose.
