What is Bi Zi Cao?:
The Chinese Herb Bi Zi Cao is the dried aerial parts of crinite pogonatherum (or goldensilk grass—Pogonatherum crinitum (Thumb.) Kunth), a grass-like herb that grows in South China along riverbanks, hillsides, and in the cracks and crevices of rocks and masonry (with enough moisture). The above-ground parts are harvested in mid-summer and the fall and sun-dried for use as medicine.
